Dharamshala to host ‘Kangra Valley Carnival’ from December 24- 31

Dharamshala, Dec 19 (UNI) The Kangra Valley Carnival will be held from December 24 to 31, showcasing a blend of culture, sports and digital attractions.
A major highlight of the carnival will be the participation of more than 1,000 women dressed in traditional Gaddi and Jhamakda attire, who will perform folk dances in Dharamshala between December 29 and 31.
The eight-day event will feature a wide range of activities, including cultural programmes, a marathon, cricket and football tournaments, a fashion show, drone displays, as well as literature and theatre events. Fireworks are planned to mark the concluding day on December 31.
Renowned artists from Bollywood, Punjabi and Himachali music will perform during the eight-day event. Prominent names include Kerala’s famous band, Ankit Tiwari, Sufi singer Kanwar Grewal, Babbu Maan, Kuldeep Sharma, Karnail Rana, Sunil Rana, Paradox rapper group and Ishant Bhardwaj, along with several folk artists.
Cultural Centre and Language & Culture Department troupes will also present performances.
Special competitions for youth and persons with disabilities will be organised. Cricket matches will be held at Kangra ground, with the final to be played at the HPCA International Cricket Stadium, Dharamshala, officials said.
